Casinos and Gambling Age
Gambling age is about the minimum age which one can gamble. In some countries, gambling is illegal for all people regardless of the age. A minimum age does not exist in some parts of the world. In other countries, the age is different and limited to the types of gambling. In a few countries, players younger than the age of 18 can play online casino games with parental permission. Social gambling has its own exceptions. In most civilized countries the minimum age for playing in casinos, online and mobile, is 18 years. The 50 American states have all different minimum ages going from 18 (Montana, NY), 19 (Alabama) to 21 (most states). From the past decade most states have expanded legalized casino gaming. It is the player's responsibility to find out whether it is legal to place a wager in the jurisdiction in which he is located.
In Europe generally the minimum age for playing in casinos is 18 years old but there are exceptions: Portugal 21, some Portuguese casinos even have it at 25 years; Greece 23. New Zealand does not allow to enter any casino unless you are 20 years old.
