The Danish Gambling Authority is an executive authority under the Danish Ministry of Taxation. It is responsible for ensuring a well-regulated gambling market in Denmark where players are protected against unfair and illegal gambling. The abbreviation is DGA.

Main Task of the DGA

The Danish Gambling Authority is tasked with the administration of gambling legislation, including lotteries, betting, online casinos, gaming machines, public poker tournaments, and land-based casinos.

The Danish Gambling Authority offers two types of licenses for online casino and betting license. Additionally, the Danish GA offers a combined betting & online casino license. A DK license is valid for up to 5 years. To obtain a license to provide online casino, you must comply with a set of requirements.

Only operators licensed by the Danish Gambling Authority can offer gambling products and services in Denmark. Online casino includes roulette, black jack, baccarat, punto banco, poker, online bingo, and gambling on gaming machines as well as other games.

In October 2021, it was revealed that Denmark has the second-highest online gambling participation in Europe. Denmark came second only to Sweden. Norway and United Kingdom came third and fourth.
